The Advantages of Using Stackers

A stacker is a pallet truck which can help you stack pallets at height. There are several different types of stacker and they can be either fully powered, semi-electric, or manual. They are most often used for moving and lifting pallets where a forklift isn’t needed, like in store rooms and small warehouses.

Our stackers

Semi Electric Straddle Stacker

This stacker comes in 2 sizes, and it’s perfectly equipped for lifting heavy goods, loading, and unloading goods, and moving them around. It’s a good alternative to a pallet truck, and it has a sturdy steering wheel and rollers. Its powerful 12v battery makes light work of any lifting job and what’s even better is there’s a built-in charger, so you’ll never have to worry about the stacker losing power. This stacker has a load capacity of 1000kg, so it’s perfect for use in warehouses, supermarkets, factories, and storage depots.

Fully Powered Counterbalance Stacker

This stacker is ideal for busy factories, warehouses, and loading bays where space is at a premium. It helps you load and unload goods like a forklift, but it takes up much less space. This high-quality piece of kit has adjustable forks that are suitable for us with UK pallets, Euro pallets, and Closed Board pallets. There’s also a heavy-duty battery, which will give you 9 hours of continuous use, and a duplex mast configuration which gives you full visibility when transporting bulky loads.

Manual Straddle Stacker

This stacker is ideal for warehouses, factories, and distribution centres because it makes light work of loading, unloading, lifting, and moving goods. It’s more streamlined and ergonomic than a pallet truck and it’s compatible with a wide range of pallets. This stacker has a hand-operated lifting mechanism, and it’s 2 wheels and front rollers provide maximum control and stability, even when it’s fully loaded. Add to this tandem lift chains and a powerful braking system and you’ll see why this is an essential piece of kit for busy workplaces.

Using a stacker: The advantages

  • You don’t need a forklift licence to operate one, though you still need to be aware of how to safely operate it.
  • Battery operated stackers cost less to run.
  • They emit no exhaust fumes or noise so they’re ideal for indoor use.
  • They’re very easy to manoeuvre so they are great for lifting jobs in restricted spaces.
  • Because stackers are smaller, operators have better visibility when handling goods.
  • They can provide a less expensive alternative to forklift trucks where extra materials handling capacity is needed.
